Domenico Ghirlandaio - Peintures
Domenico Ghirlandaio (dit Domenico di Tommaso Bigordi) est formé dans l’atelier de Michel-Ange, et fait partie, tout comme Botticelli, des peintres de fresques les plus connus de la Renaissance florentine.
Né en 1449 à Florence.
Mort le 11/01/1494 à Florence.
Domenico Ghirlandaio est autant connu pour ses séries de fresques à l’importante plasticité que pour l’excellence de ses portraits. C’est ainsi qu’il participe à la réalisation des peintures de la Chapelle Sixtine en 1481. Il se sert de ses séries aux sujets religieux pour immortaliser des personnages et des lieux contemporains, et fait preuve d’un grand talent de narrateur, de sorte que la recherche actuelle le considère comme un chroniqueur remarquable. Son choix de représenter des scènes au caractère profane fait déjà écho à la peinture de genre, qui naitra plus tard. 		Domenico Ghirlandaio
