Benjamin Williams Leader - Peintures
Benjamin Williams Leader, de son vrai nom Benjamin Williams (12 mars 1831, Reading – 22 mars 1923, Shere), peintre paysagiste anglais du naturalisme. Benjamin Williams Leader découvre l´amour de la peinture grâce à son père. Mais contrairement à celui-ci pour qui elle n´était qu´un hobby, Benjamin étudie l´art à la Royal Academy de Londres pour en faire son métier. Il trouve dans les montagnes d´ Ecosse et du Pays de Galles les motifs pour ses tableaux de paysages. Son style très précis et détaillé lui vaut bientôt de recevoir des commandes à un rythme soutenu, d´autant plus que certaines de ses œuvres sont exposées à la Royal Academy, où l´on trouve également des natures mortes florales de la main de son épouse, Mary, et des paysages de son fils, Benjamin Eastlake. Benjamin Williams peint aussi de temps à autre des scènes de genre. Il existe de nombreuses reproductions gravées de ses œuvres. Benjamin Williams Leader
