Bartolome Esteban Perez Murillo - Peintures
Bartolomeo Esteban Murillo ou Bartolomé Esteban Perez (1er janvier 1618 – 3 avril 1682, Séville), peintre espagnol important de l´époque baroque, il est considéré avec Vélasquez comme le fondateur de la peinture de genre espagnole. Bartolomeo Esteban Murillo reçoit à l´âge de 10 ans ses premiers cours de peinture. Dès 1642 il peint ses premières œuvres qui portent l´influence du Caravage et de Francisco de Zurbaran et montrent des traits encore naturalistes. En 1645 il reçoit une commande de l´Eglise pour un cycle de tableaux sur la légende de Saint François, de Saint Diego et Saint Gilles. La représentation de la lumière à l´intérieur de ce cycle annonce déjà un changement dans son style, elle confère à ses tableaux une atmosphère adoucie. Il fait la connaissance de Vélasquez, découvre les œuvres de Rubens et van Dyck, ses couleurs se font ensuite plus tendres, avec des contours adoucis et un traitement particulier de la lumière qui devient presque dorée. Parallèlement aux tableaux historiques, il peint également des scènes de genre. Ainsi il réalise en 1645 son célèbre tableau Les mangeurs de raisin et de melons pour lequel il fait poser des garçons du quartier Santa Cruz où il habite. Bartolome Esteban Perez Murillo
