Jacob Philipp Hackert, der seine Ausbildung bei seinem Vater absolviert, ist ein deutscher Landschaftsmaler des frühen Klassizismus.
geboren am 15. September 1737 in Prenzlau
gestorben am 28. April 1807 in S. Piero di Careggi bei Florenz
Jacob Philipp Hackert tritt 1754 in die Berliner königliche Akademie ein. Bevor er 1768 nach Italien geht, wo er unter anderem als Maler an den Neapler Hof von König Ferdinand IV berufen wird, reist er durch Europa. Die kompositorisch sehr ausgewogenen Landschaftsbilder von Jacob Philipp Hackert faszinieren auch Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, der später der Verfasser von Hackerts Biographie wird.
