Victor Gabriel Gilbert - Paintings

Victor Gabriel Gilbert was a French painter of Realism resp. the nineteenth-century Paris Salon art scene. During his lifetime, he won numerous awards.
Born: 13 February 1847 in Paris
Died: in the year 1933
Victor Gabriel Gilbert receives his artistic training by Levasseur. With his vivid cityscapes, he can quickly establish himself in the Parisian salon scene. Following the social need of the Parisians for sentimental interiors and genre images, Victor Gabriel Gilbert wins a large customer base with his paintings. The importance of his works can be seen when you consider the numerous medals awarded and his presence in the jury of a Paris Salon, even though, at this time, many artists are overwhelmed with honors.
