Mary Cassatt - Paintings

Mary Cassat, who originated from a French immigrant family, is considered the most important Impressionist artist and graphic designer of the 19th century in America.
Born on May 22, 1845 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Died on June 14, 1926 in Mesnil-Théribus, France.
Returning to Europe after studying art, Mary Cassat did some traveling, in order to develop her skills by especially learning from the works of Corregio and Rubens. By means of the masterful graphics, which are more based on Japanese art, she made a name for herself in Paris. She settled there in 1874 and presented her paintings at impressionist exhibition, depicting more and more the subject of an emotional mother-child relationship.
