Charles François Daubigny was a French landscape painter of Realism.
Born on February 15, 1817 in Paris.
Died on February 19, 1878 in Paris.
Charles François Daubigny was educated as a conventional artist and studied at the Ecole des Beaux- Arts. Only after ten years, in which he had already been participating in exhibitions of the Paris salons, he reached his breakthrough with some landscape portraits painted with the plein-air painting technique. Like his friend Camille Corot, he had a very keen sense of observation for atmospheric landscapes. His late work tends towards the typical Impressionist dissolution of form, influenced by his acquaintance with Claude Monet and Gustave Courbet.		 Charles Francois Daubigny
