Paul Delaroche - Paintings

Paul Delaroche (born Hippolyte Delaroche) was a French painter of Romanticism who was highly esteemed by his contemporaries.
Born on July 17, 1797 in Paris.
Died on November 04, 1856 in Paris.
Paul Delaroche who worked as a history painter and portraitist completed his artistic education both at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and at the studio of Antoine-Jean Gros. His emphatic history paintings reflect the history of England and France. Compared with Eugene Delacroix's pictures, his pictures were more accepted because his style appeared much more moderate. For a short time, before Delaroche became a teacher at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1832, Charles-François Daubigny was among his students.
