Hippolyte Flandrin - Paintings

Hippolyte Jean Flandrin was a French historical and portrait painter of the 19th century.
Born on March 23, 1809 in Lyon.
Died on March 21, 1864 in Rome.
After his five-year stay with the classicist Jean Auguste Ingres, Hippolyte Jean Flandrin began to paint more paintings with religious content. Even though he turned away from history painting, he remained tightly adhered to Ingres's style. In addition to that, he created some wall paintings for the church rooms alongside portraits.
