Hieronymus Bosch - Paintings

Hieronymus Bosch (born as Jheronimus van Aken) is in the tradition of Early Netherlandish painters. Already in his lifetime, he enjoys high esteem among church and secular leaders.
Born around 1450 in s'-Hertogenbosch as a son to a recognized painters' family.
Died on August 09, 1516 in s'-Hertogenbosch.
Hieronymus Bosch's work contains both mythological depictions and many subjects of Christian iconography. In this context, the visionary symbolism in the often cruel and demonic paintings asks today's research riddles. In his main subjects "The Hell on Earth" and the depiction on the moral reprehensibility of man, Hieronymus Bosch found a unique language of forms, which is accompanied by a strict love of nature.
