Frederic Edwin Church - Paintings

Frederick Edwin Church, a student of Thomas Cole, was a highly respected American landscape painter of the 19th century.
Born on May 04, 1826 in Hartford, Connecticut.
Died on April 07, 1900 in New York, NY.
Frederick Edwin Church belonged to the second generation of painters of the Hudson River School that was founded by Thomas Cole, and which had set its task to depict the beauty of New England. His highly detailed pictures of the newly conquered American West enthuse by their extreme colorfulness and an almost pathetic guidance of light. These factors are to emphasize the peace and beauty of a not so peaceful landscape.
