Alfred Glendening - Paintings

Alfred Augustus Glendening was an English painter and decorative artist of the Victorian period. His father was also a painter and bore the identical first name.
Born: 08 February 1861 in Greenwich
Died: 06 January 1903 in Southend-On-Sea
Due to the stylistic affinity of his works, it can be assumed that Alfred Augustus Glendening receives his apprenticeship by his father. He also specializes in landscape depictions and rural genre scenes. In addition to that, he works as a decorative artist at the theater, which plays to his motifs of subtly shaded colors. Following the taste of British society, Alfred Augustus Glendening paints idyllic, undisturbed landscapes and sweetish genre scenes, earning him considerable success.
